How to spot a fake Gulf job offer – official checks
Fake offers usually ask for money, come from an unlicensed recruiter, or arrive through social media. Before you pay anything or hand over your passport, check the offer with the official tools below.
Never pay for the job, the visa or the work permit – see “Never pay for a job”.
Deal only with licensed recruiters, and check the licence on the official list below.
Be careful with offers on social media: the UAE ministry shut down about 200 accounts promoting unlicensed domestic-worker services in the first half of 2026 (MOHRE, 16 Sep 2026).
Bahrain: you need a work permit from a Bahrain employer before you arrive – working on a visit visa is illegal (LMRA).
Keep your passport. In most Gulf countries the employer may not keep it without your consent – see “What your employer must pay for”.
On BinaGCC, Apply always goes to the employer’s own careers site, and we refuse jobs that ask workers to pay.
